City of Limerick Adult Educational Guidance Service

Free and impartial Information, Advice and Guidance for Adults (over 16 and not in full-time education) who are considering returning to education or who are participating in Limerick City VEC funded Adult Education Service Programmes. For the general public, the service provides a drop-in/phone-in/log-in Information Resource Centre on O'Connell Avenue, with information on local, regional and national education opportunities and supports for adults.

Guidance Counselling is available for adults living in nationally designated RAPID Areas of Limerick City and for adults participating in Limerick City VEC Adult Education Service Programmes.
 

Clare Adult Guidance Service

Clare Adult Guidance Service provide educational information and guidance to adults to make informed decisions around their own learning and progression. The service is free and confidential and available throughout Co. Clare.  

County and City Enterprise Boards

CEBs offer a range of complementary supports to entrepreneurs and budding entrepreneurs. The supports range from providing an initial "First Stop Shop" service where individuals can receive advice on the steps involved in setting up a business, to the provision of grants for feasibility studies, provision of financial support for the establishment of new businesses or expansion of existing ones and the provision of a range of soft supports such as training and mentoring.

Downtown Centre

The Downtown Centre is an access, guidance, support and information centre for adults (aged 18 plus) who are seeking to progress or return to higher education  

Downtown Centre Guidance Service

Educational guidance counselling for adults (aged 18+) is available at the Downtown Centre, in order to assist people to explore their higher education learning options and to make informed decisions about third level learning opportunties.  

Ennis Regional Learning Centre

Ennis Regional Learning Centre is a new centre in Ennis aiming to offer flexible and accredited third level courses from Shannon Consortium partners for adults in County Clare. We also offer educational guidance for adults (18+) where they can discuss higher education options with an experienced guidance counsellor.  

Enterprise Acceleration Centre

The Enterprise Acceleration Centre (EAC) is open since March 2006. The objectives of the Centre include supporting the development of High Potential Start-Up Businesses as an integral part of the Enterprise Ireland network in the region

Delivering the LEAP and EnterpriseSTART programmes which assist Entrepreneurs by providing management and business development training and support. Facilitating potential linkages between EAC clients and LIT which could include student placement, graduate recruitment and/or collaborative R&D and research commercialisation

The Careers Officer is responsible for the efficient and effective management of careers and appointments so as to benefit students, graduates and employers. Killarney Regional Learning Centre Guidance Service

Located in Park Court, Beech Road, the Killarney Regional Learning Centre (KRLC) is a higher education access, support and educational guidance centre, established by the Shannon Consortium partners. The KRLC offers an independent educational guidance service to adults who are interested in returning to third level education.  

Limerick Institute of Technology

LIT prepares learners for fulfilling and challenging futures, fostering the professional, intellectual, social, cultural and personal development of the individual. We provide third and fourth level education, training and research, playing a pivotal role in the economic and socio-cultural development of our region.  

Limerick Institute of Technology Careers Service

The LIT Careers Service aims to support those considering returning to education at LIT and existing students in their transition from full-time education to work experience, further study and employment.
 

Limerick Local Employment Service

The LES provides a personalised tailor made service of information, guidance, job mediation and job placement to help people access training, education and employment. It is a free and confidential service with local offices in specific areas of Limerick city.  

Mary Immaculate College

Mary Immaculate College provides a relaxed harmonious environment in which to study. The College is characterised by an informal atmosphere, friendly rapport between students and staff, concern for the individual student and a warm welcome for new students from Ireland and abroad.  

Mid West VECs

The VECs in the Mid-West provide an extensive range of high quality adult learning programmes and support services across the region. Their provision, which is delivered in over 185 local venues, gives adults opportunities to acquire knowledge, skills and competencies that will enable them adapt to future challenges and take advantage of future opportunities in their personal and working lives.  

North Tipperary Adult Guidance Service

North Tipperary VEC Adult Guidance Information Service is a Department of Education and Science funded initiative which provides one-to-one and group guidance to adults who are considering or participating in Adult Literacy, Vocational Training Opportunities Scheme (VTOS) and Community Education, including Back to Education Initiative (BTEI). The Service also provides impartial information on local, regional and national adult education opportunities to the general public.

The purpose of the Strategic Innovation in Education project is to enhance the educational landscape in Limerick to ensure that learners have the opportunity to realise the right to an education that meets their needs
